CAPACITY BUILDING FOR YOUTH ENTERING IN THE LABOR MARKET


Over 400 young people from rural councils Arusha, Babati
  and Meru have benefited from Project Respect Work for building
knowledge and capital capacity thus increasing employment opportunities through
entrepreneurship.

How these young women and men who are in the informal sector
have improved their capacity through a three-year project Work Profile
funded by the European Union countries (EU) and implemented by
Tanzania DSW organization headquartered Tengeru, Arusha Region.

 The Communications Coordinator of the organization,
Christina Sudi were speaking at graduation ceremony for
20 girls in the field of tailoring and catering held in
Technical College Comfort existing at Moshono area here in Arusha.


Se said that, the agency DSW implementing employment policy, coordinated
and the Ministry of Labour and Employment to extend the scope of job opportunities for
protect young people by giving skills and knowledge through extensive training and
it is focused on increasing youth  income, improve
household life and reduce dependency.


Christina said that, statistics show that about young people between
800,000 and 1,000,000 enter in  the labor market every year so
leading to inadequate employment opportunities and respect in the workplace.

She stressed that, despite empower youth by providing capital
and equipment, DSW Tanzania Corporation has become part of the techniques pickup
the International Labour Organization (ILO) in its struggle to cope
problem of youth unemployment spread entrepreneurship education in the country.


'' Our organization recognizes that in Tanzania youth is 35.1% of
population and 70% of the labor force of the country depends on the young
in the formal sector and the informal'' said Christina.

He also urged councils in rural Arusha, Babati town and Meru
partnership with young people to ensure that they are used appropriately workforce
available to deal with poverty in their areas, and to
maintain efforts and progress made in the project Work
